Since 2000 we have a special relationship with an excellent institute in the city of Monterrey, Mexico called Nuevo Amanecer ("New Dawn").

This institute raises its funds from local donations. The dedicated doctors, therapists and staff of Nuevo Amanecer manage to treat and educate many children. We have provided training and assistance to the Institute over the last six years which has helped them specify and supply correct wheelchairs and specialized seating to many children.

MeDiCT has facilitated seven training courses for therapists and staff given by expert volunteers and a further 8 specialists from the UK and Holland have been to share their knowledge and expertise. MeDiCT has also sent two containers full of special seats and wheelchairs to the institute.

This child's seat has been fabricated by staff at Nuevo Amanecer, using methods taught by MeDiCT, this is known as Postural Management. At present, Nuevo Amanecer is the only institute in Mexico with a clinic dedicated to postural management, but they are trying hard to help other institutes and clinics to develop this vital area of treatment for these children.
